The Nightingale

I had heard about The Nightingale from several friends, and it definitely did not disappoint.  I decided to pick it up after the Christmas holidays, as I actually had some time to read.

Two French sisters, diametrically opposed in attitude and demeanor, are caught up in World War II after France is occupied by the Nazis.  How they each deal with the occupation and its trials, the risks each one takes, and their effect on the war makes for a very interesting and compelling story.  It doesn't take long to immerse oneself into the story, and I have to admit I didn't want to put it down once I started it.

This book would be a good book club book, as it can take many avenues for discussion.  As not to risk giving away the plot, I am not going to tell more, except . . . read it.  You will not regret it!
