Snowmobiling

The day after we arrived at the Northern Lights Village, Don and I opted to go snowmobiling. The day was gray and cold, which made the snowy trees blend with the background. We had a small group, all of whom had ridden before. I wasn't interested in driving, so Don did the heavy lifting. We went fast and we went slow; we watched the scenery and we had warm blueberry juice and cookies; we talked about Finland and about snowmobiling. And then we went back.
On the way back, the leader suddenly stopped because three snowmobilers were not keeping up. He turned around and within a few minutes, they were all back. Turns out one of the snowmobiles veered off course and slowly tipped over, trapping the two riders. They were unhurt, and it soon became rather funny. I am glad it wasn't us! We have been snowmobiling before but not at the temperatures we encountered. Luckily, we were well equipped for the cold and we discovered snowmobiling in Finland is pretty fun!
