The first place we went allowed us to get up close and personal - much like the Exit Glacier in Seward, though much larger. When we went to it, the sun was beginning to shine. After about three minutes, we were caught in a downpour - so the pictures are not real great.
We left there to get to the lake of icebergs. The wind must have been blowing 100 mph (or maybe 50). That dampened our enthusiasm for being outside very long, but it was fascinating to watch the wind blow huge icebergs around the lake. The colors were quite alive within the icebergs, and although we could not take a boat ride through them, due to the close proximity of the ice, we were able to get a sense of what the lake is like. Apparently this lake has been the opening scene in one James Bond movie (A View to Kill), and it has been in several other movies as well (Die Another Day, for one). Guess I need to see more movies, as I did not recognize the lake.
