By the end of Friday, we will have driven nearly every paved road in Alaska, with the exception of the road to Valdez, which we had to punt when the Jeep died. Today's final leg led us out of Skagway to the Alaska Highway.
The first 15 miles was an 11% grade out of Skagway. Since I drove the Jeep rather than have it towed, I did not get to take any pictures of the amazing scenery, but this was as pretty as we have seen. After we crossed the Canadian border and began to tow the Jeep, I was able to take pictures of the picturesque lakes, reflections, and newly changed fall leaves.
They call this area the moonscapes. It is rocky and craggy, with very little vegetation. But it was beautiful.

These lakes were exquisite.
I have many more but these will whet your appetite for now.
