New Zealand Part III

The most exciting wildlife we were able to see, however, was the albatross. They were flying everywhere, and we were able to see three different kinds. It is not too hard to spot them . . . they are so much bigger than the other birds, they are easy to find. The swells were pretty large, so we were bobbing around, but Don managed to get one good picture. We are hoping for another good one from a man on our tour, but the one Don got will have to do for now.
We came across a brown patch in the water, where thousands of fish were eating krill. The birds were eating the fish, so there was a lot of activity. We had never seen krill, so one of the crew pulled some up with a net. The number of gulls and albatross stunned us . . . fun times!
