Evening Along the Coast

While at Roseanne's in Oceanside, and after we had eaten their Marion Berry Cobbler, we saw a woman with a KSU jacket on it.  We introduced ourselves, and she told us her daughter, Rachel Proteau, is a high jumper for the 'Cats.  Luckily, she was there, too.  As her mother and I rounded the corner and she called Rachel to her, I launched into my K-S-U chant.  Rachel laughed and we had a nice conversation.  I discovered that she is also an Academic All-American, carrying a 4.0 in biochemistry.  Wow!  I can't wait to watch her progress!

We then bid Kenneth and Melinda adieu.

Since it was not quite dark, we chose to go to the Cape Meares light house, since the group had gone there earlier in the day.  The wind was whipping around like crazy, as badly as any windy Kansas day. The trail to the lighthouse was rather steep: going down was not so bad but it was quite a hike back up!
We caught the lighthouse as the sun was going down, and Don managed to catch the sun shining through the prism.

The sunset that night was also worth a few extra minutes.  This area is gorgeous.  We will be back!
