Exit Glacier

Exit Glacier is a popular spot to visit in Seward.  When we were here six years ago, we walked the trail, and we sidled up right next to the glacier.  The snow was next to us and going down the mountain a bit.  The catabatic winds wrought havoc with my hair, and Don had to hold onto his hat, but we expected it and enjoyed the glacier.

Today, we were not able to go because we did not have a car, but Bart, Katie, CJ, Kara, and Char all went.  Imagine our surprise when we saw this picture!

Kara and CJ are standing at the same place we were and it is obvious the glacier has melted quite a ways up the canyon - far enough that the picture is far less dramatic . . . Rather scary when one has visual proof of such drastic change.
