Seward

After driving back to Anchorage to take the Jeep to a transmission specialist and to pick up the Willie, we came down to Seward.  The drive down was uneventful, and when we arrived, we discovered that it was very hot in Seward.  It ended up being 84 degrees . . . way too hot for an area with snow on the mountains, though the Alaskans are loving it.

Seward is very picturesque, and the shots Bart managed to get astounded me.

Sunset in Seward
We didn't do much in Seward because on Saturday we awakened to 35 mile per hour winds that blew smoke into Seward - a lot of it.  Once the wind calmed down this evening, the smoke then settled leaving us for some pretty stunning photographs but a lot of smoky-smelling clothes.

Saturday's sunset . . . and the smoke worsened as the wind died
It is unfortunate that the day was not as productive as we had hoped, but sometimes the weather makes you do other things - such as read and write letters.
