More of the Debacle!

While we were staying at Cabela's, we were taking the Jeep all over Anchorage.  And then . . . it started doing bad things.  It appears as if the transmission is going out, and maybe the water pump, too, so on Monday morning, after delivering the RV to the Freightliner place, we took the Jeep to Lithia Jeep.  They said it could get in in two weeks, but after Don explained our predicament,  they promised it to us by Friday.  In the meantime, we rented a car.

We thought the RV would be diagnosed in the morning, so we visited Cabela's, Starbucks, and Target, and then we went to Earthquake Park.  Back to Starbucks to wait . . . and wait . . . and wait.  Finally they called, and they couldn't get to the RV.  So we packed our clothes, packed up the refrigerator, and left for Homer.

The drive to Homer was uneventful, and as we were driving, we began to listen to The Hunt for Red October.  We have seen the movie but not read the book, so for $5, I downloaded it, and although we have 13 more hours to listen, we can hardly wait to get back to it!!!  We arrived in Homer in time to say hello to everyone, and then it was time for bed.  BUT . . .

on our way home, we looked behind us to see this lovely moonrise!
