Definition of Insanity

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting the same results. Before we left we could not get the left-turn light on the Jeep going, and the Brake Buddy wouldn't work.  After an hour and a half, we departed, even though we couldn't figure it out. When we got to Santa Fe, the ice maker cratered, dripping water on the furnace fan, which created a horrible noise.  The thought of heading to Alaska without a furnace was not exactly appealing.

On our way into Albuquerque, we were calling all over the place, trying to find someone who could work with us on the issues.  Since it was just before July 4, and everyone and their brother was trying to have work done, we were not having much luck.  We got to one establishment who said they might be able to help, and suddenly the Jeep's blinker worked fine (despite the fact that it had not for over 600 miles.)  The furnace fan had dried out and was fine, despite the fact that 50 miles earlier it did not.  But the Brake Buddy . . . well, it still did not work.

When we got home from the wedding on July 6, Don went outside to work on the Brake Buddy. No luck.  We went to Lowe's, discussed options, looked into other systems.  But Don decided to make one last-ditch effort to fix it.

He went to the car and decided to quit reading the directions and plug things in in a different order.  Rather than do A and then B, he did B and then A.  It worked.  I can't believe it.  It worked!

Don is a happy camper.  The furnace fan is working.  The blinkers are working.  And now the Brake Buddy is working.  So we are off.  The adventure has officially begun!
