Gypsies on the Road

We were traveling with a Gypsy on Sunday.  She did not eat any of our food, she was very informative, and we bought her for $4.99.

That's what the apps for the iPad from Gypsy.com cost.  This company has nine guides for various places around western Canada.  They can either be rented on an iPod or downloaded onto an iPhone or iPad.  By the time we got to Jasper, the battery was drained . . . but we were much more informed about the drive.

When the app is started, GPS tells the Gypsy when to start talking.  There is a little mark on the map that tells you when she is going to talk; and the blue car drives along the highway.  She is remarkably accurate, and every time she came on, we were within about 100 feet of the sight she was telling us about.

For anyone traveling to this region, I highly recommend the Gypsy guide . . . at least for the Icefields Parkway.  We learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the drive!
