Salty Dawg

One of Homer's most notable historic places is the Salty Dawg saloon.  I had not paid much attention, but Chris wanted to see it, so she and Teri walked down there the night that we were in at the Heuers.  We all decided we had to go so Monday after our shopping expedition, we went down there.

The outside of the building is fascinating and beautiful.  I loved it!

Inside, customers have pinned dollar bills everywhere.  I am sure there are bills from 50 years ago somewhere in that building.

I was not exactly excited about spending a lot of time in a dingy, crowded bar, but it was neither. There were plenty to tables for us to sit, the clientele was nice, and the ambiance was a lot of fun.  We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the Salty Dawg.
