Myvatn Naturebaths

Don and I are not big hot tub people, but when given the opportunity to do a natural geothermal bath, we always go for it.  Outside Lake Myvatn, between the mud pots and our hotel, the newly built Naturebaths beckoned.

It was cold, though not as cold as when we went to Chena Hot Springs.  After showering, however, we  had to go out into a fairly stiff wind, which made the chill pretty bad.  Good thing the hot springs were close.

They were quite comfortably warm, though one side was noticeably warmer than the other.  At one end was a spout that sent the water tumbling down.  I stood underneath it for a few minutes, and although it was not as good as a massage, it was pretty close!

About 30 minutes was all we could take before we needed to cool down.  So out we came, just as the beautiful sunset was appearing.  A great way to end the day!
